The Wall Street Journal is looking for an Economics Editor to oversee a crucial area of core coverage.
The Economics Editor supervises a team of reporters and editors dedicated to all aspects of covering the national economy, from breaking news and analysis to in-depth stories and artfully crafted narratives on the economic trends at play in the U.S.
This editor should have an expert grasp of economic trends and be able to provide quick and clear guidance on coverage across economic subjects. The most qualified candidates will also have experience covering central banks, fiscal policy and financial regulation.
The job requires strong collaboration skills. This editor will be expected to coordinate coverage across bureaus and across coverage areas, working closely with the U.S. Coverage Chief, as well as reporters and editors outside the U.S. The ability to lead a large team and coordinate with other bureaus and reporting teams is a must. Enthusiasm and experience with alternative storytelling techniques is helpful.
