Dow Jones Newswires is seeking an experienced data editor to join our commodities news and data team. This fast-paced position will handle time-sensitive reports from USDA and other government agencies. Daily responsibilities also include publishing key data from various exchanges, including CBOT, CME, ICE, NYMEX and COMEX. This role converts a high volume of data into tables for an audience of business professionals and requires a good understanding of financial markets and the needs of traders and investors. This is a fast-paced environment that requires publishing to a real-time news service, making speed and accuracy essential.
Collect and enter a large amount of data and tables from various sources
Regularly handle time-sensitive reports
Ability to make quick and smart decisions in a fast-paced news environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Visual basic
Maintain speed and accuracy
Strong communication skills
Attention to detail
Able to shift priorities when necessary
Understanding of financial markets
Good interpersonal skills and teamwork ethic
Ability to meet tight deadlines
