At its core, OPIS uses a set of complex IT systems and tools, handling huge amounts of data in a reliable way, and providing customers with business applications to use this data as efficiently as possible.
We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer, focused in Database Development that will design, develop and maintain database architecture and code initiatives supporting internal and third-party software solutions, delivering excellent products in scope and on time, and meeting current and long-term business needs for the business area. Participate in an agile team of motivated, driven, high-energy developers, building trust and confidence with team members and business stakeholders. Lead, mentor, and coach junior database developers to build stronger and faster teams.
As an experienced and solution-oriented Lead Database Developer your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: working with our product teams to provide timely, effective and performant solutions; contributing to the design of scalable data solutions, including the development of automated pipelines; implementing and/or maintaining database systems to ensure the availability and consistent performance of our application suite; understand and define business data requirements and identify data needs and data sources to create scalable data architecture and support enhancements, new product and implementation. You will be a leader coaching, mentoring, and training team members driving both employee and team development and growth.
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, related technical field, or equivalent experience
4-7 years database developer experience (SQL Server, PostgreSQL or equivalent)
Ability to create data models for the integration of multiple systems
Ability to create and maintain stored procedures, functions, views
Ability to write SQL queries and statements to explore source data and data issues
Must speak and write in English fluently; Effective communicator
