Join a dynamic Human Resources team! Dow Jones, a leader in the global media industry, seeks a passionate HR Specialist to join our Asia-Pacific team based in Tokyo, Japan. This incumbent will play a key role in supporting and delivering employee life cycle experiences to enhance employee experiences in Japan.
You will own and support
Provide immediate support to employees and managers at the Tokyo office covering the employee life cycle. This includes advising employees on HR-related queries, updating relevant HR systems and partnering with internal departments when applicable.
Be the HR representative for the Japan office, maintaining knowledge of local HR policies, working rules, programs and laws and applying this knowledge to ensure policies are within Japanese regulations and consistent with the Dow Jones culture.
Partner with local leaders on organizational development and training programs applicable.
Manage onboarding and offboarding, relocation, engagement, performance management, employee relations, and work on multiple programs such as benefits and compensation policies.
Review and provide supporting documentation to Payroll team to process payroll and social insurances
Ensure high quality execution of transactional Workday/People Operations experiences for employees and managers and developing positive employee relations climate.
Work together with the HR teams outside of Japan, to provide local and regional coordination of daily HR support.
Participate in global projects as assigned by the manager from time to time.
Experience with labor relations with knowledge in Japan Employment Regulation.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal in Japanese and English;
Comfortable working with HR systems including Workday and data collection and reporting requirements.
