About the Role:
As Director, Product Management for Asia/Pacific you will report to the Head of Business Management & Commercial Strategy. You will define, support, and manage products and offerings specific to the Japanese market with additional responsibilities for the greater Asia/Pacific region where Newswires has business interests and priorities. These products are the backbone of the real-time distribution of Dow Jones content for firms in Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, South Korea and Australia who require it for their own employees and their customers.
About the Role:
As Director, Product Management for Asia/Pacific, you will report to the Head of Business Management & Commercial Strategy. Your primary focus will be on products for the Japanese market, with additional responsibilities across the Asia/Pacific region. These products support the real-time distribution of Dow Jones content for firms in Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, South Korea, and Australia.
This is a hybrid role, requiring you to be in the office three days per week.
You Will:
Collaborate with sales, marketing, and client support to explain product functionality.
Support customer-facing teams and regional partners during sales and support processes.
Identify and document requirements for new features and products.
Work with product development and news teams to translate requirements into technical specifications.
Coordinate with local and global engineering teams on product development and maintenance.
Ensure technical documentation is updated for clients using APIs.
Develop product messaging and strategies with Marketing.
Contribute to sales documentation and training materials.
Present product enhancements to sales teams and internal stakeholders.
Identify new market opportunities and define market segments with the head of strategy.
Review usage metrics and recommend product or messaging changes.
Adjust go-to-market plans based on success and failure analysis.
You Have:
Bilingual in Japanese and English.
12+ years in business strategy, product management, or related roles.
Knowledge of the business information landscape in Japan and the APAC region.
Experience with technical documentation and B2B content delivery (B2B4C is a plus).
Discuss technology with both engineers and non-technologists.
Experience with communicating product updates and persuading internal and external partners.
Comfortable with complex products, and enjoy working with diverse partners.
Ability to work across geographies and be self-sufficient
