About the Role/Position
You will work within our international and regional teams building on our strengths in coal market reporting, contributing insight, news and pricing activity. The deliverables will include daily newswires, contributions to McCloskey Coal Report and other related publications as well as contributing to the weekly Asian coal price assessments.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Gathering of price information on a daily/weekly basis across a range of grades and origins
Developing an extensive contact base
Applying rigour in price setting and following methodologies set for pricing
Market intelligence and analysis of the fast-changing trends in thermal coal space
Representing McCloskey at coal conferences/forum
Knowledge/Experience Preferred
Undergraduate degree in Journalism, English, Finance or Business
Three years reporting/research experience in coal markets or related commodities businesses
Experience with spreadsheets and commodity data analysis
Experience in a daily news publication
Ability to be able to build relationships both internally and externally
Self-motivated, business-minded and results driven
Detail oriented and innovative thinker
Confident and charismatic in engagement and communication
