Job Description:

Position: Content Quality Analyst, R&C Managed Services

Reports to: Quality Manager, R&C, Managed Services

Data Strategy also provides equity exchange data from 43 countries and creates content on markets, companies and people to help users identify business opportunities and manage risk.

Job Summary

Custom Research is a unified group focused on bespoke solutions for our clients. This involves unique research which is tailored and optimized for our customers’ specific needs.

The group is composed of teams who:

  • Research and write high-quality Due Diligence reports on companies and/or individuals;

  • Write targeted queries and hand select the most relevant news for My Company Today newsletters

  • Provide KYC remediation services through screening of entities and individuals against R&C structured data and negative news references in Factiva

  • Support WSJ Pro offerings via research and original writing on cybersecurity and other topics

The position sits within the R&C, Managed Services subgroup, a team that offers screening and remediation services to our clients globally. We screen individuals and entities against Dow Jones Risk and Compliance content and/or Factiva negative news.

The R&C, Managed Services, Quality Team has a supporting function to teams that are performing daily risk reviews of screening alerts ensuring quality, effectiveness and overall efficiency of procedures and policies. The Quality Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring quality, completeness and accuracy at all times, and will also be involved in any other projects that run alongside the day-to-day project(s). This role requires a high sense of ownership and being able to review completed work with utmost objectivity and an excellent eye for detail and patterns.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing an independent checker role by carrying out ongoing quality checks on completed risk reviews and providing clear, objective and constructive feedback.

  • Tracking and documenting any information and/or statistics that are linked to quality assurance and improvement.

  • Preparing quality check and quality assurance reports, publishing key trends or concerns, identifying the root cause of problems and advising action points to plug all the gaps to mitigate risks in future.

  • Initiating and implementing new ideas and projects which aim at building efficiencies while reducing risk.

  • Creating and maintaining databases, designing processes for their optimal and accurate usage.

  • Ensuring that all operational processes are executed in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Working closely with the Operation Analysts to propose and draft automation solutions to support other teams.

  • Creating, updating and maintaining guidelines and policies related to quality, ensuring all stakeholders are informed about any changes in a timely manner.

  • Delivering training and guidance to Data Analysts and ensuring the latest methodologies are correctly implemented across teams.

  • Performing regular rounds of sampling, assisting with audit rounds and handling any escalations or requests related to rectification or verification in a timely and professional manner.

  • Participating in discussions around methodologies with relevant stakeholders, ensuring information is shared and documented in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Identifying problem areas and risks associated with current processes/methodologies and make recommendations to the Quality Manager to improve the quality of the Data Analyst work

A professional attitude will be necessary as the Content Quality Analyst will be exposed to client facing environments when working on-site at client offices.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required

  • 1 year experience with name (or transaction) screening in banking environment is highly preferred

  • Experience with Factiva, Dow Jones Risk and Compliance (or similar products) are considered an advantage

  • Fluency in English is essential. Professional-level fluency in any of the following languages will be a significant advantage: Chinese, Arabic, Malay, Burmese, Japanese, Vietnamese or Hindi

  • Knowledge of advanced Microsoft Excel formulas and functions is essential

  • Ability to handle large volumes of information and meet tight deadlines

  • Accuracy and attention to detail along with a tenacity for noticing anomalies is critical

  • A fast, efficient and quality-focused work ethic

  • Ability to think out of the box and challenge beliefs, assumptions, including your own

  • Adaptability to shift and experiment in response to the change in situation and external environment

  • Flexible team player, self-motivated and able to work under minimal supervision

  • Customer-focused: putting the customer first responding with a sense of urgency

  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new skills

  • Ability to accept feedback as a learning opportunity

  • Strong research skills, including online search tools. Tenacity and ingenuity in the pursuit of sources and information
