About the Role
We are seeking an energetic, innovative, and passionate student to join our team for Summer 2024. In this role you’ll gain valuable hands-on experience as an IT professional working in the User Personalization Assets space using tools and applications in the Service Mesh and AWS environment. The position will provide an opportunity to put your technical as well as analytical and communication skills to use.
The successful candidate will join a high-performing team to learn more about how we produce our web products. We’re looking for creative thinkers who have a love for coding and a passion for problem solving to create consumer-facing products.
This role is hybrid, based in our Princeton office.
Collaborate with engineers across other Dow Jones products to take advantage of shared technology
Understand and improve standards of code development for shared applications and services
Learn about new technologies and be able to present pros and cons of adoption in terms of business value, scalability, maintainability, and project delivery performance
Analyze complex technological problems and present solutions
Be able to prioritize and manage work, adhering to project timelines in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment
Completed at least 2 years toward your Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Familiarity with .NET Framework and understanding of .NET applications such as C#
Familiarity with ASP.NET and building ASP.NET Websites
Familiarity with Relational Databases and SQL
Familiarity with any version control systems
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and tools
Excellent written and verbal communication
Proactive attitude and willingness to take on new challenges
Exposure to Git, Chef, Terraform, AWS technologies or any other cloud or container based application deployment is a plus
NYC Pay Range: $21.00/hour
