Job Description:About the Role
The Lead Business Analyst plans and directs the analysis of complex activities to be implemented as a new solution. As Lead Business Analyst provides end-to-end analysis and support for the project phases in parallel and participates on cross-functional teams to address needs with processes that meet requirements. The Lead Business Analyst, as part of a project team, is accountable for project goals set by the Project Manager and Technology Leadership and collaborates with them to ensure delivery.
You Will:
Develops subject matter expertise across several Dow Jones systems to provide guidance on available functionality to our users.
Interpret customer our needs and translates them into application and operational requirements.
Collaborate with Development Teams to accomplish our requirements.
Document requirements in a standard template.
Facilitate resolution of functional points of contention between our users and technology partners.
Analyze and documents process flows of business activities.
Translate user stories and process flow into use cases and requirements.
Document new features and processes so stakeholders and end users can understand the new deliverable.
Assist business teams in producing UAT test cases.
Develop subject matter expertise in several business processes.
Produce deliverables in compliance with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology.
Provide input on SDLC procedures and document templates for continuous improvement.
Collaborate with leadership to establish departmental goals, and to create and plan projects, and budgets. Contribute to the improvement of departmental processes.
Collaborate with users to analyze information needs and functional requirements, and deliver the following artifacts as needed: BRD, FRD, Use Cases, Screen designs, JIRA tickets, Feature Overviews, and User Acceptance Tests.
You Have:
Lead the organization of project stakeholders..
Apply knowledge of the business domain to shape solutions that deliver optimum value.
Excellent business writing skills for documenting our requirements, use cases, functional specifications, design specifications, and test cases.
Proficient in using standard industry methods and tools, such as Business Process Modeling, Use Cases, Activity-Sequence Diagrams, Data Flow Diagrams, and Collaboration Diagrams.
Proficient in the use of computer systems and tools, including G-Suite and Project Management applications.
Experience & Education
BA/BS or Master’s degree in information technology or a business discipline.
7+ years of experience developing requirement specifications according to standard templates. Experience in crafting such templates.
3+ years of experience as the lead BA on significant projects.
7+ years of experience creating structure and a positive environment to elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, user flows diagrams, scenarios, business analysis, and task and workflow analysis.
Prior involvement with customer-facing web-based projects.
Experience with end-to-end order management processes.
Ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts & decompose high-level information into details, abstract from low-level information to an articulate overview, and distinguish user requests from the actual underlying needs.
