The Experience team oversees the Product, User Experience and Technology functions across our business. They are responsible for shaping the way customers, readers and users engage with our brands and franchises. The Experience team works to provide a world-class experience in every aspect—visuals, tools, data, mobile, video, social and more. They work closely with our newsrooms and partners across Dow Jones to shape new products and drive innovation.
About the Role:
The Dow Jones Experience team is looking for an IT Auditor to assist with Dow Jones IT compliance and certification initiatives.
You Will:
Audit Planning: Assist IT SOX Program Lead with planning, scheduling, coordinating, monitoring, and reporting the findings of annual IT General Controls testing.
Testing: Conduct testing of IT controls and processes to assess their design and operational effectiveness.
Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of audit procedures, findings, and recommendations for process improvements.
Communication: Clearly communicate SOX testing status and findings to the IT SOX Program lead as well as to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Tracking and Monitoring: Track the execution of corrective action plans.
Coordination: Assist with coordinating and interfacing with the company’s external auditor to maximize their reliance on testing performed,
Interface with external auditors to review findings and evaluate risk.
Evaluate whether adherence to internal controls delivered by internal teams has errors or fails to achieve objectives.
Provide feedback to departmental managers concerning the job performance of employees responsible for internal controls being audited.
Make recommendations about staffing for current or future projects/teams responsible for internal controls
You Have:
3 + years in IT, IT Compliance, IT Audit, and/or IT Security.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience, preferably in Information Technology.
Strong knowledge and understanding of SOX and IT General Controls.
Breadth of technical knowledge: mainframe, Microsoft, UNIX & Windows operating systems, Oracle and SQL DBMS, experience with Peoplesoft and SAP application software strongly desired.
Proficiency in audit methodologies, risk assessment, and control evaluation.
Excellent organizational, oral and written communications skills.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, teamwork and project management skills.
Demonstrates initiative, strategic thinking, sound judgment, and business acumen.
Able to work independently, meet deadlines, and drive for results.
