Dow Jones Financial Project Manager, Experience Operations in PRINCETON, New Jersey

Job Description:

Dow Jones is on a journey to take our products to the next level and we need you to assist in making that happen. The Operations team is key to ensuring that our deliverables are executed as efficiently as possible and that our growth ambitions are met.

As a Financial Project Manager within our small but effective Operations team, you will partner with stakeholders from across the company to coordinate and provide capital and operating expense budgeting, tracking, forecasting and management reporting.

You will work with senior leadership to plan, track and accelerate work across a broad portfolio by implementing and evolving processes for key projects. You will also help manage recruiting efforts for this growing team.You will create and monitor purchase orders, hiring plans and contract renewals, as well as streamline processes to increase awareness and ensure the effectiveness of our activities. Additionally, this role will assist Operations leadership team to conceptualize, plan and execute broader Experience-wide programs and tasks.

About the Role:

The Project Manager will assist in multiple aspects of operations effectiveness. This role will focus on activities such as budgeting capital and operating expenses for the Experience Team. You will work across teams and products to share best practices and influence procedural decisions. You will report to the Senior Director of Operations within the Experience team, who will be your mentor as you grow within the team.

You Will:

  • Understand the difference between capital vs opex spending

  • Work closely with stakeholders in assigned business areas to understand budget and activities

  • Track spending of capital projects and facilitate successful execution with the delivery teams

  • Help senior management make tactical and strategic decisions by preparing periodic reports

  • Assist with annual budget activities

  • Monthly forecasting of capital and operational expenses

  • Identify financial risks and opportunities

  • Create and monitor purchase requisitions

  • Ensure statements of work are properly structured and executed

  • Ensure contract workers are renewed or terminated on schedule

  • Facilitate and monitor internal labor costs for capital activities

  • Coordinate funding request submissions

You Have:

  • 3 years experience with operational activities and financial project management
