The Corporate Sales Team plays a critical role in the delivery of key B2B products to global businesses. We are looking for an experienced, self-sufficient New Business Corporate Account Executive to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for cold calling and prospecting to Fortune 1k organizations to sell our corporate portfolio of products including The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s & MarketWatch group subscriptions into these organizations. They will discover, build and maintain strong relationships in their assigned territory and will work closely with internal teams such as the marketing team on lead generation efforts to uncover new business opportunities. Through these initiatives, the candidate will be able to convey the value and benefits of our product suite to these prospects. This essential role contributes valuable revenue to the team and grows both revenue and circulation in the form of The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s & MarketWatch digital subscriptions.
The primary responsibilities of a New Business Corporate Account Executive, but not limited to, can be found below:
Meet a set new business sales target - Generate new streams of revenue through sales of products and services to 'new to company' customers in order to achieve a predetermined sales target.
Identify, qualify, develop and close new business to achieve individual New Business Revenue goals.
Proactively qualify genuine opportunities and look to progress these onto the next stage of the sales process, or quickly move on in cases where no worthwhile opportunity exists.
Be able to clearly express the value proposition and benefits of our Corporate products, and use this knowledge to ensure that solutions address clear business needs for the prospective client.
Manage your Sales Forecast and Pipeline to ensure accurate recording of prospecting activity, conversion success, active sales opportunities at each stage of the sales process and forthcoming new business revenue in the global CRM to provide timely information to management.
Scheduling meetings with prospective clients to obtain new business.
Act as an advocate for Dow Jones products to prospective clients.
Respond to all leads in a timely manner.
The successful candidate will possess:
Minimum 5-7 years sales experience in a role that requires cold calling/prospecting. Telesales experience preferred. Strong needs analysis, negotiating and closing skills to ensure sales opportunities are managed to a successful conclusion.
College degree (or equivalent), preferably in marketing, communications, or a business discipline.
Established track record of success exceeding sales targets and managing a business territory
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (listening, questioning, written & verbal), including proven presentation skills. Includes ability to speak effectively with all levels of management.
Excellent interpersonal skills. Understands how to work with different people and different working styles across the organization and inside member companies.
Business awareness to help build credibility with the prospect, spot potential opportunities within a peer group or industry sector, and express the benefits of our products and services in the appropriate business context.
Excellent time management required with the ability to effectively organize multiple activities and reprioritize when necessary to ensure revenue goals are achieved
Positive, energetic and dynamic self-starter.
Ability to work with a sense of urgency.
Sets a strong example for others by working collaboratively, and in a congenial, professional manner.
Experience selling subscription based products is a plus.
