This individual plays a key role in the success of the Content Licensing team's objectives to provide high quality cost-effective market data strategic planning, vendor selection, vendor management, service provisioning, financial reporting, and inventory/cost review and control. In this role, the Content Licensing Manager, Market Data will facilitate vendor and business strategy management guiding efforts with internal business units and market data vendors. In addition the Content Licensing Manager, Market Data will work in partnership with the Market Data Operations Team, Market Data Engineering Team, Dow Jones Business Units, Procurement and market data vendors to foster alignment between Dow Jones's business unit needs and vendor products, services, and activities.
Managing current relationships with content suppliers/market exchanges/publishers.
Manage market data content for Dow Jones’ products and services and perform Finance related functions including: budgeting, forecasting, long range planning and strategy.
Develop and execute business plans, including market research, product evaluation and due diligence.
Oversee billing for market data vendor accounts including purchasing, invoices and payments.
Oversee market data vendor reporting and changes in policies and guidelines.
Evaluate market data and technology trends to drive new initiatives.
Accurately prepare and maintain Dow Jones’s market data inventory.
Regularly collaborate with team members on audits, installations and removals of market data services.
Position Requirements :
Education: College degree required, advanced degree a plus
5+ years experience preferred
Strong negotiation, organizational and interpersonal skills
Understanding of business concepts, finance & accounting principals, budgeting, accounts payable, accrual methodologies and invoice processing workflow
Knowledge of market data administration
Extensive usage and understanding of financial content
Excellent verbal and written skills
Highly strategic as well as detail oriented
Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (formerly G Suite)
