Dow Jones Analyst, GFO - Special Projects in PRINCETON, New Jersey

Job Description:

The analyst for Special Projects will act as a BA/Jr. PM in coordinating, planning, and management of smaller projects for GFO shared services initiatives. Will work closely with the manager/project manager to create complete project plans in Smartsheets, including action item lists, stakeholder registers, requirements, and risk registers. Coordinate meetings for requirements gathering, weekly status updates, and record all meeting minutes. Act as a liaison for IT projects assisting as a project coordinator for GFO end user applications that are affected, ensuring all testing and sign-off is met. Consistently update manager on project status, open risks, and any possible delays in delivery. Continuously implements Project Management best practices when working with projects and other teams.

Responsibilities

  • Practices Project Management process groups and knowledge areas

  • Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions

  • Creating project plan and WBS with Project or Smartsheets

  • Risk management: identifying risks, delays, and adjusting for them

  • Ensuring solutions meet business needs and requirements

  • Creating and maintaining action items and user acceptance plans

  • Prioritizing initiatives based on business needs and requirements

  • Working closely with clients, technology team, and management staff.

  • Managing competing resources and priorities.

  • Monitoring deliverables and ensuring timely completion of projects

  • Provide detailed meeting minutes and next steps to working team and updates to stakeholders

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance or related field. Project management CAPM or in pursuit of PMP Certification

  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.

  • Advanced technical skills.

  • Excellent documentation skills.

  • Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations.

  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook and/or G-Suite applications

  • A track record of following through on commitments.

  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.

  • A history of supporting successful projects.

  • Experience with Workday and SAP a plus
