Job Description:
The Subscriptions team is responsible for growing the subscriber base of Dow Jones Consumer products globally, across WSJ, Barron’s, MarketWatch and Investor’s Business Daily. The team manages the end-to-end subscription levers across acquisition, engagement, and retention.

Role Overview
This role is responsible for growing The Wall Street Journal's paid subscriber base and revenue. The role is responsible for working with functional areas within the Subscriptions team and across Dow Jones to ensure strategic goals are achieved. The role will work closely with data science and analytics, paid media, customer service, product, technology, finance, legal, operations, brand marketing, customer insight, enterprise sales and editorial teams to ensure all areas of the business are aligned and working toward the same strategic goals.
Responsibilities
Provide strategic direction to the functional teams who are responsible for driving volume and revenue lines for WSJ globally.
Help define audience segments and use customer insights to drive growth. Be a champion for the customer across the company.
Partner with finance, product, marketing, insight, and editorial leads to ensure all teams are aligned to and working toward strategic goals.
Work closely with data and insight to find opportunities and build business cases that will accelerate subscriber and revenue growth.
Manage strategic initiatives across cross-functional groups to ensure execution on time and on budget.
Identify strategic marketing partnerships to expand into new subscriber growth areas.
Partner with advertising sales teams to develop opportunities that mutually benefit advertising and subscriptions.
Understand the competitive landscape to identify market opportunities and risks.
What do you need from me?
12+ years of experience in a commercial role within a subscription business, experience working in media or publishing sectors is a plus
Experience in building subscription businesses
Ability to work effectively in a matrixed company model
Strong negotiation and influencing skills
Ability to manage workload effectively in a fast paced environment
Lead with a growth mindset
Use data effectively to make decisions
Ability to see the “big picture” and impact holistically and turn individual tactics into programs of work.
