The VP, Business Strategy, Wealth & Asset Management Group, will accelerate the growth of Barron’s industry-leading financial advisor business by creating and managing must-have digital products for a community of elite wealth managers collectively overseeing $9 trillion.
This proven innovator and leader will oversee product creation, revenue growth, and marketing, as well as measurement, tools and platform insights for the Wealth & Asset Management team within Barron's Group and will work across Dow Jones to find synergies. This person will be responsible for creating new products as well as setting the strategy to promote existing offerings. The successful candidate will work across the organization to ensure product and tech teams complete those assignments on time and to spec. She or he will work across teams, overseeing the building, messaging, packaging, and delivery of our products to market.
The VP will:
Oversee creation, implementation and management of W&AM digital products and marketing strategy, including pricing, messaging, packaging, promotion and selling
Ensure the business success of the Barron's Advisor site by expanding the traffic, diversifying and growing monetization offerings (sponsorship, ad rev, native content, etc.) in partnership with the sales and editorial teams
Work with the editorial teams to expand content strategy to provide tactical and tangible tools to help advisors with practice management. Provide resources advisors cannot find elsewhere to establish a competitive advantage strategy, execution, and overall business success
Oversee completion and ongoing iteration of a new tool for advisors and prospects, owning the product roadmap, marketing strategies, and business development
Lead a team in B2B and B2C marketing, product marketing, and measurement and platform insights
Implement SEO strategies, social tools and partnerships to drive engagement
Work across Dow Jones with teams including product, data, governance, finance, legal, marketing and editorial
Support sales and other teams with W&AM products and services; serve as an evangelist for our products within the company and secure companywide resources to promote W&AM products
Requirements and Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in digital product development, digital product marketing, media strategy with experience in revenue operations and insights; Previous P&L ownership is a plus
5+ years of leadership experience managing multi-functional, layered teams
Experience running B2B digital properties
BA/BS/CS or equivalent working experience; MBA encouraged but not required
Proven track record of building and developing highly successful cross-functional organizations
Experience in the wealth and asset management space and/or relevant financial services preferred
A track record as a problem solver who is constantly iterating and is capable of looking over all aspects of the operation and getting into the details when necessary to achieve the goals with limited resources.
Sufficient technical understanding to work effectively with product, engineering, technology and finance
Team player with a sense of ownership and pride of performance on behalf of team, department and company
Strong time-management, interpersonal and communication skills
