The Dow Jones Media Group is looking for a UX Researcher to join the DJMG UX & Digital Design team.

Dow Jones Media Group is a dynamic portfolio of consumer facing brands in financial advice, news, luxury real estate, and lifestyle. The portfolio is comprised of Barron’s, Barron’s Penta, Barron’s Next, MarketWatch, FN London, Mansion Global, and Moneyish.
As a UX Researcher, you too will be a voice and advocate, empathizing with and thoroughly understanding goals, desires and preferences of target users. You’ll use this knowledge to inform research methodology and documentation of DJMG websites, apps, tools, newsletters and off platform experiences.
You will collaborate with and work alongside product managers, engineers, editors, interactive graphics and business stakeholders. Ultimately, you will be helping shape the future of how we deliver news and analysis to our customers.
Responsibilities and what you’ll do
Design and conduct studies across key product areas, utilizing methods such as ethnographic/field research, diary studies, surveys, user/usability testing (remote and in-person), and any other methods you find impactful
Review, analyze, and communicate qualitative data to generate tactical and strategic insights, as well as actionable recommendations which drive product innovation and design improvements for users
Find creative and compelling ways to generate, present, and evangelize results and recommendations throughout the company, in order to help cultivate a highly informed, more effective, and more empathetic organization
Work closely with Product, Editorial, Engineering, and Design to inform the end-to-end user experience and accessibility
Maintain best practices for UX research disciplines at DJMG
Advocate for users in a fast-paced, corporate climate, supporting a shared understanding of the user-centric intersection between design, editorial, the business, and engineering
Be an ambassador for UX, promoting the role UX plays in helping deliver world class digital products internally and externally
Look beyond News and Media sectors, monitoring all relevant technology and design trends
Required Skills & Experience
3+ years of experience with Product organizations, conducting qualitative research studies, including usability/user testing, surveys, and user interviews
Undergraduate degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Computer Science, Cognitive Science, or a related field OR comparable UX research experience
Solid grasp of latest Web and App user experience best practices
Experience with user-centered design principles
Ability to communicate and coordinate cross-functionally in order to engage stakeholders from across the organization
Proven experience working with key company stakeholders, with the ability to educate teams about user research
Willingness to take initiative, run with projects, and speak up when support and guidance is needed
Meticulous eye for detail
Strong listening, analytical, and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Enthusiasm for a team-oriented and collaborative environment
Graduate degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Computer Science, Cognitive Science, or a related field
Design thinking methods and brainstorm facilitation
Visual communication, information design, and wireframing skills
