The Senior Vice President of Product & Emerging Growth Platforms is responsible for:
Product and Platform
Partners with key stakeholders, directing the ideation, creation and development of new products and platforms that support Dow Jones’ strategic mission and vision.
Directly manage a team of product managers, product owners and others while driving product strategy, road-mapping and execution.
Lead cross-functional teams to build and deliver products and drive successful customer outcomes.
Develop product approach and road maps based on key initiatives from CXO
Drive issues to resolution. Inspires teams to over-achieve in a fast-paced, distributed environment.
Create product strategies to address market needs and translate into a product roadmap.
Define business and investment cases for new products.
Strategy and Analytics
Partner with CXO and other experience team leaders to communicate and implement company's experience strategy internally and externally so that all employees, partners, suppliers, and contractors understand how it carries out the company's overall goals
Drive enterprise digital transformation innovation, fiscal responsibility, and revenue generation
Build on qualitative and quantitative insights from voice of customer, analytics, reporting, and other data sets on products, customers, operations, and markets
Establish and review key strategic priorities and translate them into a comprehensive strategic plan.
Facilitate and drive key strategic initiatives through inception phase
Engineer organization to adapt to changing business conditions.
Develop inclusive planning processes while translating strategies into actionable and quantitative plans.
Identify potential strategic partnership and acquisition opportunities to accelerate growth targets.
Key functions include:
Advocacy and evangelism for the product vision and strategy to teams throughout the company, customers and prospects.
Driving membership, audience growth, engagement and revenue
Management and nurturing of product team members and program team members.
Creation and prioritization of new product and platform roadmap, working closely with editorial, marketing, sales, development team, project management and others as needed .
Partnering with technology, user experience, and other product leadership to optimize product delivery and deployment
Confidently building sound opportunity assessments and business cases for investments, while balancing constraints (time, resources, data) in order to achieve business outcomes and deliver on customer needs and promise.
Vision and Strategic Leadership:
Collaborates with sales team members to create new products and offerings to expand partnerships and revenue and strategize with advertising and revenue operations teams on the productization and pricing of new offerings.
Partners with business development teams to identify and vet new monetization opportunities.
Partners with the Net Growth organization marketing organization to ensure growth of current membership offerings as well as collaborating to create new membership offerings.
Partners with audience development teams to expand reach and engage new audiences. Works with research and analytics teams to gather and analyze audience research and traffic to inform product strategy, new product enhancements, and to define and measure KPIs for success.
Communicates and socializes the strategy and roadmap to internal and client stakeholders in ways that drives excitement, support and understanding.
Drives prioritization of large product initiatives to ensure development resources are focused on highest value items on the product roadmap.
Leads, delegates and supervises the work of product managers on the product team in a way that leads to high quality outcomes and growth/retention of team members.
Creates and fosters a culture of sharing and collaboration among product, design, and user experience teams.
Who you are:
Passionate and knowledgeable about digital media, news and investing.
Experience analyzing qualitative and quantitative consumer research.
Experience defining and implementing product requirements for websites and mobile apps.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to communicate effectively across the full spectrum of internal stakeholders and customers.
Proven ability partnering with a technology organization.
Highly strategic as well as detail-oriented.
Preferred Qualifications :
15+ years experience in product development, strategy, data, marketing, and/or general management preferred.
5+ years as a senior leader in news or technology industry.
Bachelor's Degree. Advanced degree preferred.
Agile / scrum experience
Strong analytical skills, including deep knowledge of Google analytics platform
Proven track record of hiring, developing, and retaining top talent.
