About the Role:

Dow Jones Global Real Estate & Workplace Evolution (GRE & WE) creates and maintains an inspiring office portfolio of engaging, effective, and evolving employee experiences and workplace offerings for Dow Jones. You will be responsible for developing, managing and administering the Global Project Delivery and Workplace Strategy program for Dow Jones.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the Project Delivery and Workplace Strategy Program. You will be accountable for driving best practices, ensuring our service catalog is developed with clear SLA’s and KPI’s, which should be measurable and performance managed. You will also work in alignment with GRE & WE Regional Leads, as well as News Corp to ensure enterprise excellence and consistent best practices.

Location: New York City (Hybrid)

You Will:

  • Report to the SVP, Head of GRE & WE

  • Manage, develop, and recruit talent responsible for supporting the ongoing Project Delivery and Workplace Strategy responsibilities in support of Dow Jones global real estate portfolio.

  • Manage annual capital budget for global workplace projects. Gather cost for the initial budget analysis, track the project spending, monitor expenditures and update the monthly capital outlook for Finance, ensure vendor relationships and payments are managed.

  • Request and review quotes from vendors to confirm they align with budget, onboard new vendors, partner with sourcing on contracts, create purchase orders and receive invoices for all workplace design projects.

  • Prepare the package and file for Tenant Improvement Allowances with the landlord after construction completion.

  • Work with user groups to conduct space needs discovery sessions, identify space planning needs, work with Regional GRE&WE leaders to translate into real estate footprint requirements.

  • Manage renovation and reconfigurations across global offices.

  • Work with News Corp Workplace Design Lead to create schematic plans, followed by presentation creation to share with key stakeholders for alignment on workplace design projects.

  • Collaborate with News Corp Workplace Design, architects, engineers on design development and construction documents.

  • Review construction plans for internal quality assurance and control confirming they adhere to the design intent and align with project goals.

  • Oversee the construction administration process in assuring work products are in compliance with documented design intent.

  • Research and develop furniture specifications for projects, supply furniture dealers with plans and specifications, handle procurement of goods, track deliveries and schedule furniture installation.

  • Run project meetings to keep the team focused and on schedule aligned with a developed scope of work and timeline.

  • Oversee employee and office relocations, serving as the main point of contact for employees on all aspects of user group moves.

  • Manage Reinstatement of offices when leases are terminated.

  • Manage CAFM data, input and updates

  • Evaluate capacity, vacancy ratios, and space allocations, to accurately track organizational space needs.

  • Oversee documentation produced by staff, redlining drawings, coaching and mentoring team members on technical aspects of work, quality control policies and procedures.

You Have:

  • 3 to 5 year of people management experience.

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in workplace strategy, project management, business case development, capital planning in alignment business objectives, and working with various external A&D, Project & Construction Management, and Facilities supply chain partners to deliver an effective and engaging workplace experience.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent field experience.

  • Experience working in a corporate setting, with the curiosity to understand a company with a broad variety of business units with differing office space and hybrid workplace needs.

  • Terrific interpersonal skills and an enthusiastic personality, to aid in forging bonds of trust with your internal customers, contributing to our Future of Work / Workplace Evolution strategy, and ensuring strategic advisory services that enable Dow Jones employees to deliver the best work of their careers.

  • Facilities management experience and ability to read/translate architectural and engineering drawings.

  • The role involves global travel, sometimes at short notice. Travel is a regular part of the role, comprising up to 20% of work hours.

  • Experience understanding and manipulating portfolio data, and translating into a consumable executive presentation/business case is required.

  • Ability to translate data and create workplace strategy business case proposals, including financial analysis and value propositions.

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a multinational corporate setting is preferred.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.

  • Experience with project management softwares.
