About the Role:
In this role, the senior producer - editorial will report to the executive producer. The qualified candidate will prioritize booking newsmakers, CEOs, industry leaders, authors, celebrities and athletes for standalone interviews at WSJ C-suite events and feature videos. Ideal candidates are confident and proactive producers who can book and produce high-quality videos around engaging live and taped interviews and have management experience.
Top candidates have strong relationships with sources, and a track record of booking high-profile interviews, experience in working with talent under deadline and producing complex field productions. Because this is a global news operation, candidates need to be effective communicators with solid news judgment and excellent interpersonal skills.
You Will:
Identify and pitch a diverse, engaging slate of interview subjects for WSJ C-Suite Events including CEO, CFO, CIO, CMO summits, and more
Book top-tier executives, newsmakers, politicians, CEOs, industry leaders, authors, celebrities and athletes
Develop and maintain key relationships within core industries; handle outreach and aggressively pursue interviews
Conduct in-depth pre-interviews and research, and help prepare thoughtful, engaging questions for the interviewer
Lead shoots confidently in the studio and field. Includes managing talent and PR reps, making assertive, split-second decisions and troubleshooting issues
You Have:
12 + years experience booking and working with high-profile subjects at a top-tier news organization
A proven ability managing every aspect of video production from start to finish, delivering high-quality results efficiently and often under tight deadlines
Effective communicator with exceptional writing skills and careful attention to detail
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent writing skills
Team player who has ease working with freelancers, senior leadership and talent
A deep understanding of, and interest in, The Wall Street Journal's core topic areas
Demonstrated experience with multiple camera setup a plus
Understanding of Adobe Suite, with expertise in Premiere and basic knowledge of After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator a plus
