The role entails identifying and quantifying new growth opportunities, guiding strategic business decisions and partnership negotiations with analytical rigor, and collaborating with senior leaders across Dow Jones.
Job Description
Leads the Partnerships Business Analysis (PBA) team that drives ideation and analysis of new business opportunities for the Chief Business Officer and the New Ventures team.
The Senior Director, PBA supports the overall teams for Business Development and New Ventures including growth areas initiatives for Partnerships, Audio/Video and Events. The projects will provide the analysis needed to drive decisions around the opportunity.
Responsibilities:
Lead the Business Analysis team in support of new business ventures and strategic partnerships
Derive actionable insights from market research, competitive trends and industry sources.
Prepare financial models, business plans, and investment requests.
Create C-level presentations that drive decision making.
Support deal negotiations, analyze & grow existing partnerships, and help DJ enter new markets.
Work in a fast paced environment across all of Dow Jones’ brands and business models.
Have exposure to C-suite leaders at Dow Jones/News Corp and key partners at Google, Apple, etc
Translates and helps articulate company’s and team’s goals into the strategy with our partnerships
Manages a team of managers/analysts.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 7 years experience in a consulting, investment banking, or business development role or similar environment
Demonstrated experience in financial modeling and complex data analysis
Must be able to create persuasive, visually appealing presentations describing complex business opportunities.
Excellent communication skills, comfortable presenting to C-suite executives
Entrepreneurial drive and resourcefulness with a deep understanding of technology disruption and changing consumer behaviors in news media
Prior experience managing analysts in fast-tempo environments
Preferred Qualifications:
8 or more years experience in a consulting, investment banking or business development role or similar environment
MBA or CFA
Direct experience/exposure in tech, media or news industry
