We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join the Dow Jones Membership group's Data Science & Analytics team. You will oversee the ongoing optimization of paywall rules and membership strategy for Barron’s and MarketWatch’s subscription products. The person in this role will be focused specifically on growth within Barron’s Group.
The membership team is committed to supporting great business journalism through the improvement of our products and the growth of our subscription business. We obsess over building outstanding data products that bring applied research methods to all stages of the customer lifecycle.
We ask that you have a background in customer analytics and a passion for topics in data science like machine learning and multivariate testing. Working with Barron’s Group product organization, you will oversee future experimentation around subscription offerings. You will also provide MarketWatch and Barron’s editorial teams with helpful insights and recommendations on how to improve the publishing strategy for a membership model.
Work closely with executive stakeholders to leverage metrics to drive insights and influence business decisions for Barron’s Group’s membership products.
Draw meaningful insights from the process and produce those models in a manner that makes our products and marketing feel more connected.
Expert SQL skills, data modeling, Python or R experience a plus
Demonstrated skills in visualizing data, specifically utilizing Tableau
Consult the engagement team on best practices for segmentation in their member communications.
Communicate with team members across Barron’s Group, identifying requirements, reporting on important success metrics, and remediating discrepancies.
Identify opportunities for creative ways we can engage and retain our members—with a focus on strengthening sticky habits. Ask smart questions, diagnose the problem, and develop long-term solutions.
You have, at minimum, a bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, mathematics, data analytics, data science, or a relevant quantitative field. Applicants with relevant technical experience and a professional background in media are also encouraged to apply.
Two or more years of experience in analytics or media-related role.
An enthusiasm for Barron’s and MarketWatch and an understanding of the products.
You have experience working with data science-related libraries in Python or R and have a mastery of common analytics tools; SQL, Tableau, and Excel.
You are self-motivated and sweat the details.
A background in web analytics.
You have experience using common analytics/business intelligence tools (SQL, Tableau, Looker, Excel)
