MAINTENANCE BUILDING SPECIALIST
Dow Jones & Company, Inc. is recruiting for a Maintenance Building Specialist in their Facilities-Building Services Department. Under the direction of the Senior New York Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Building Specialist will be responsible for providing support and perform general maintenance repairs as tasked. The Maintenance Building Specialist will interact and assist the Director of Facilities and Construction, Workplace Design Team and IT Department. Interact on a daily basis with Dow Jones & Company employees and provides assistance as requested. The recruit must have a high school diploma or GED. Possess effective oral and written communication skills.
Must be able to work overtime as needed.
Must have knowledge basic computer skills.
Receives work orders, able to read and comprehend work orders, completes work orders in a timely manner and inputs work orders through the Archibus Work Order System.
Must have knowledge and experience working with hand and power tools.
Must to be able to lift 50 pounds.
Set-up conference rooms, providing additional chairs and tables, opening movable walls for large in-house events.
Plasters and paints offices, common areas and storage rooms, etc.
Meets various contractors for scheduled preventative mechanical maintenance.
Replaces light bulbs, keeps inventory of light bulbs, stores used light bulbs for recycling.
Cleans and maintains the maintenance shop, storage rooms, mechanical rooms, all power tools and equipment.
Assembles and installs ergonomic equipment.
Accepts furniture delivery and assembles.
Hangs various signage, shelves, art work and bulletin boards.
Replaces carpet and ceiling tiles.
Assists in internal moves and relocation of employees.
