The award winning Dow Jones’ in-house Studio unit, is a fast-growing team of energetic writers, content and creative strategists, videographers, designers, photo editors and developers. The work spans a variety of forms -- short- and long-form reported articles, immersive digital experiences, documentary videos, data visualizations, animations and more. This is an on-site (NYC) full-time position. The Dow Jones stable of brands includes: The Wall Street Journal, WSJ. Magazine, MarketWatch, Barron’s, Mansion Global, Moneyish, and more. This role is to ensure internal and external communication and continuity so projects get completed on time and on budget with quality output and client satisfaction.
This role will oversee Dow Jones’ advertising creative projects from pre-sale through to post-sale as a creative resource manager and cost management center. The SD is accountable for planning and implementation, as well as tracking cost, resource time spent, production schedules, SOW’s, client timelines and creative deliverable output for specific projects. The SIP will manage the client relationship as it pertains to the project output and will liaise closely with many teams across the organization.
Deep understanding of advertising, account management and production.
Ensure quality control is part of every program scope and is executed on an ongoing basis.
Professionally lead client facing conversations in connection to any program deliverables.
Partners with the organization leads to oversee execution of creative needs from pre-sale through to post-sale.
Review all program specifics with team leads and all other staff that will be affected by the program activities; revise the schedule as required.
Review and hold teams accountable to project pricing costs associated with new and ongoing programs.
Manages Scope of Work specifics and partners with legal team on key documentation relating to programs completed.
Supervises program hours and other costs associated with programs to ensure we continue to perform under budget and within scope.
Reviews creative briefs from Strategic Services team; approves and ensures details are clearly outlined prior to being shared with Creative Director and design team.
Oversees and understands schedules for program completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities from post-sale onward and identifies the sequences of activities needed to successfully complete the program.
Successfully manage a production and program budgets, PO approvals and ensure freelancers are set-up with the Business Manager to be paid accordingly.
Contract qualified consultants to work on the project as appropriate in connection with the Producer, Creative Director and Operations team.
Cast, location scouting & source talent for creative productions, staff projects based on internal bandwidth and hire external freelancers and vendors.
Help manage budget and licensing, coordinate video shoots, troubleshoot, oversee post-production, manage client review process and ensure on schedule for final delivery.
7 years of agency experience. Minimum 2-3 years as Director or equivalent level position
A successful track record of delivering high quality creative output, on time and within budget
Experience managing third party contracts, talent negotiations, usage rights and partnering with legal team on communications on behalf of clients.
You will be highly organized and familiar with a creative landscape
Familiarity with JIRA and SalesForce
You will have the ability to work well in collaborative environment with designers, writers, developers and producers
BA or relevant experience
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Strong project/time management and multitasking abilities
Interests in advertising, marketing, media, social media and branding
Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment
