Job Description:

Dow Jones, a leader in the global media industry, seeks a Senior Business Advisor, Global Diversity & Inclusion that will work as a thought leader and project manager to identify, develop, and implement diversity and inclusion efforts throughout the lines of business and with key stakeholders. Reporting to the VP, Inclusion & Community, the Senior Business Advisor, Global Diversity & Inclusion is a collaborative leader who embodies the spirit of our culture by living and supporting our core values; curiosity, trust & humility.

The Senior Business Advisor, is a key business engagement and consulting role in support of our overall D&I strategy, and the primary driver for enabling inclusion and equity of outcomes within our Business to Consumer (B2C) business functions. The Senior Business Advisor, will utilize best practices, robust data and analytics, and create strong cross-functional partnerships with the assigned leaders and business function (B2C) to help embed D&I principles into the business and make progress on diversity and inclusion goals. This role will represent the D&I team to the business, operate as a trusted advisor and identify the unique needs to effectively customize and design solutions.

Responsible for:

  • Develop and operationalize diversity and inclusion plans that enable clients and businesses to progress on goals and objectives. Lead execution of Diversity and Inclusion strategy for designated client portfolio.

  • Partner and build strong relationships with cross functional teams to understand business priorities and needs; Provide subject matter expertise through consulting, advisement, and utilization of research and evidence-based practices to drive results.

  • Support executive communications on Diversity, Inclusion and Community topics. Act as a D&I leader for assigned business and/or region.

  • Organize and collaborate with business leaders, HRBPs and program managers within the business to help execute strategy and tactics and advise any business/ department diversity council/working groups.

  • Solve business problems. Design and quickly implement solutions that cut across multiple disciplines.

  • Works to achieve operational targets with major impact on the departmental results. Contributes to the development of D&I goals for the department and planning efforts.

  • Access and analyze data to help identify trends, insights and gaps to inform strategy as well as relevant programming and interventions.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • 6-8 years of experience as a D&I practitioner and/or a business manager, with experience embedding D&I into business functions or operations.

  • Possesses both: Deep subject matter expertise in the business area and D&I experience.

  • Knowledge and experience of project and change management.

  • Ability to navigate complex business models.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Data and analytical skills; have experience to interpret data, translate it into implications, innovative D&I actions and outcomes.

  • Programmatic and hands on experience building D+I programs.

  • Able to utilize both operational and advisory skills to effect change and transformation.

  • Partnership/collaboration/influence skills.

  • Business/relationship development partnership skills – effective at building strategic partner relationships, within Talent, People team and throughout the lines of business.

  • Ability to collaborate at a high level with others on cross-functional teams.
