The newly developed Professional Membership team is responsible for recruiting and retaining members of the world’s foremost influential business membership. We equip ambitious professionals with the essential intelligence and tools they need to better lead their industries, grow their businesses and advance their careers. We provide a highly specialized service that builds on the power of our journalism, the insight of our analysis, the ambition of our audience and the continuity of community.
Reporting to the Revenue Retention and Engagement Manager, this position will support the revenue growth in our new Professional Membership unit by enabling our sales teams to improve member retention. The candidate will have the ability to develop a deep understanding of our existing customers and prospects. They will also understand our offerings inside and out.
Our ideal candidate would be detail-oriented, self-motivated and comfortable with numbers. You should have strong communication skills and a professional demeanor. You should be extremely well-organized, take ownership of the tasks at hand, be able to multitask and remain calm under pressure. You will also be someone who enjoys being a team player, and can handle many different types of people and cultures with tact and courtesy.
What are my key responsibilities?
Supporting the Retention and Engagement Manager in developing and delivering the member communications strategy for WSJ Professional Industry and Executive memberships, that is focus sed on increasing revenue, reducing churn, resuscitating lapsed customers, and increasing customer engagement;
Create copy and execute event recruitment emails for our Executive Membership propositions;
Manage the coordination and execution of the all member communications across the Professional group - including onboarding, engagement and renewal communications;
Support the execution of the WSJ Pro member events programme, including breakfast briefings, webinars and conference calls;
Create and manage all Executive member trackers in Factiva, coordinating research on members that have ‘gone-away’;
Work with the design agency (The Box) to ensure that all assets brief are delivered on time and on specification;
Working with the Retention and Engagement Manager to report monthly on:
Member renewal rate;
Product/Service renewal rate;
Revenue renewal rate;
Cancellations and ‘do not renew’ requests – split by memberships & reason;
Client engagement - Event attendance and usage stats linked to Member Renewal Rate to predict churn indicators;
Xsell & Upgrade – identification of prime upgrade targets based on comprehensive account spend reviews and clear recognition of sales to source.
Creating and circulating the member feedback report to all key stakeholders;
Provide cover for the Member Relations Managers, including direct member outreach, welcome pack fulfilment, onsite event support and member inbox management.
1-2 years of professional experience in B2B and B2C marketing is desirable;
IT literate with a working knowledge of MS Excel is essential;
Excellent organisation skills, able to work under pressure and to tight timescales in a fast paced environment;
High level of accuracy and attention to detail a must;
Ability to produce comprehensive reports and act on results;
Ability to take ownership and responsibility;
A self-motivated and proactive team player, who will continuously build upon and share knowledge and expertise with the team;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels;
Results-driven, high-performing, high-quality work attitude;
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite;
Experience with Salesforce.com or other similar CRM systems is desirable.
