Manager of Bundle Subscribers, Dow Jones
The Marketing team is responsible for growing the subscriber base of Dow Jones products globally, across WSJ, Barron’s, MarketWatch and Investor’s Business Daily. Within the Marketing org, this role sits in the Marketing and Subscription Strategy team, which sets plans and priorities for each of the lines of business and key strategic focus areas.
Director of Bundle Products
This role is responsible for operating and assisting in marketing programs that drive existing bundle subscriber engagement and retention, including upselling bundles to single-product subscribers. Ensuring that marketing programs that improve bundle retention propensity and upselling are well planned and effective means leveraging the full marketing org across brand and performance areas, as well as working with wider Dow Jones departments. The role will partner with brand and performance marketing, paid media, data science and analytics, customer service, product, technology, finance, legal, operations, customer insight, enterprise sales and editorial teams to ensure all areas of the business are delivering towards bundle goals.
Implement marketing programs and campaigns that deliver bundle growth, including inserting bundles in wider Dow Jones programs
Provide detailed updates on performance of live campaign and explain bundles inclusion in future planned activities and team roadmaps
Serve as the day-to-day executional partner for the functional teams who are responsible for driving direct bundle engagement and retention globally
Help target unique bundle audience segments and use customer intelligence to drive growth. Be a champion for this premium customer cohort across the company
Attend regular meetings with marketing and non-marketing teams to ensure all are delivering on agreed plans that drive strategic goals for bundles
Work with data and insight to give ammunition that supports unique business cases and investment requests for bundle growth
Manage tactical initiatives for cross-functional groups to ensure timely, on-budget execution
Participate in execution plans with strategic marketing partners advertising sales teams that mutually benefit advertising and bundle subscriptions.
Understand the competitive landscape to identify market opportunities and risks.
What do you need from me?
7+ years of experience in a commercial role within a digital marketing business, experience working in media or publishing sectors is a plus
Experience in supporting subscription businesses
Ability to work effectively in a matrixed company model
Attention to detail and focus on timeline and tangible deliverables
Ability to manage workload effectively in a fast paced environment
Ability to synthesize information and tell performance narratives
Use data effectively to make decisions
Ability to see the “big picture” and impact holistically and turn individual tactics into programs of work.
Ability to look ahead to understand how market trends will impact the business and pivot accordingly.
