Dow Jones & Company, Inc. is recruiting for a Maintenance Building Specialist in their Facilities-Building Services Department. Under the direction of the Senior New York Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Building Specialist will provide support and perform general maintenance repairs as tasked. The Maintenance Building Specialist will interact and assist the Director of Facilities and Construction, Workplace Design Team and IT Department. Work daily with Dow Jones & Company employees and provides assistance. The recruit must have a high school diploma or GED. Have effective oral and written communication skills.

Have knowledge basic computer skills.
Receive work orders, able to read and comprehend work orders, complete work orders in a timely manner and inputs work orders through the iOffice Work Order System.
Have experience working with hand and power tools.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Set-up conference rooms, providing additional chairs and tables, opening movable walls for large in-house events.
Plasters and paints offices, common areas and storage rooms
Meet various contractors for scheduled preventative mechanical maintenance.
Replace light bulbs, keep inventory of light bulbs, stores used light bulbs for recycling.
Clean and maintain the maintenance shop, storage rooms, mechanical rooms, all power tools and equipment.
Assemble and install ergonomic equipment.
Accept furniture delivery and assemble.
Hang various signage, shelves, art work and bulletin boards.
Replace carpet and ceiling tiles.
Help with internal moves and relocation of employees.
