We are looking for a Live Journalism Pricing Strategy and Data Analyst who will be able to work across all levels of the organization to support the rapid growth of our Wall Street Journal | Barron’s Group live events business. This role will largely support the ongoing development of our value-based pricing strategy and the evolution of our commercial business. The ideal candidate will understand how to organize, analyze, evaluate, and discover new insights hidden in vast amounts of data, and ultimately summarize the true value of live events both from a commercial investment and product pricing perspective. Must have the ability to manage large data sets and report summarized findings, the ability to load and maintain inventory levels and pricing information into our internal systems, and the ability to develop and maintain a value KPI reporting process.
The Live Journalism Pricing Strategy and Data Analyst will report to the VP of Consumer Pricing.
Maintain and further develop our value-based pricing models by leveraging data-driven analytics (internal and external)
Work directly with the internal system architects to load inventory and pricing information into our CRM platform
Develop a reporting structure to evaluate and to communicate pricing performance to management teams
Manage our pricing governance process to ensure commercial compliance with our standard operating procedures
Develop a post-event value KPI reporting structure to analyze the performance of our live events products (and integrate relevant findings into pricing strategy).
Create and maintain process and best practice documentation
Provide ad-hoc support to live events and pricing management, as needed
Support continuous improvement of pricing operations and processes, as needed
Strong financial modeling skills with a high level of proficiency in Excel
Strong analytical skills; ability to drive insights from large data sets
Strong sense of personal ownership and the ability to move things forward
Deep knowledge of value-based strategic pricing principles
Strong presentation development skills with a high level of proficiency in PowerPoint
Ability to quickly learn new technologies / systems
Ability to think strategically and to get the “story behind the numbers”
Ability to take the initiative to support the future development of our pricing strategies
Ability to operate in a cross functional environment
Ability to communicate to all levels of an organization
BA/BS College degree required, preferably in quantitative discipline (e.g. Economics, Finance, Data Analytics)
1 to 3 years of professional experience in a quantitative role
