Department/Product Overview: The Professional Information Business (PIB) at Dow Jones plays a critical role in the delivery of key B2B products in order to be the power behind global businesses. We are a truly global business with a significant proportion of our customer base coming from outside the US. We provide information, data and analytics to help support and drive our customers key business decisions, and protect their organizations from risk. The PIB business is broken into three customer focused verticals to solve for user solutions: Knowledge & Insight, News Alerts & Data, and Risk & Compliance. These business units are continually looking to develop innovative new products that will further serve our customer needs.
Key Responsibilities: As the Head of Product Strategy for Dow Jones News, Alerts and Data (Dow Jones Newswires) within the Professional Information Business (PIB), you will report into the General Manager, and own the product roadmap, commercial strategy and success, and go to market for this line of business. Additionally, the scope of your role will include leading a team of product strategy managers. You will work in close partnership and collaboration with other departments including Sales, Marketing, Partner & Alliances, the Newsroom, Technology, Data Strategy, Customer Service and Finance across PIB and other areas within Dow Jones to achieve Newswires’, PIB’s and DowJones’ P&L goals.
15+ yrs Product Management experience with a global B2B information company.
10+ years working with and building products/solutions for financial services clients.
Familiarity with delivery of content, including news, via feeds and APIs.
Experience working with real time market data platforms.
Excellent communication, influencing, and collaboration skills.
Experience creating and managing product roadmaps.
Strong leadership skills and experience hiring, coaching, and developing a team.
Highly commercial minded and familiarity with content licensing best practices.
Strong organization and interpersonal skills.
Bachelor’s Degree required.
