About the Role:

Reporting to the VP, People Strategy & Enablement, this role is responsible for delivering generalist HR advice and services to the Dow Jones business. You will deliver quality, effective and timely HR advice to internal customers.

About the Team:

The People Connect team is a newly created team that centralizes all our People Operations globally. As an extension of the People Business Partner team, this team is critical to an excellent employee experience. The People Connect team is a strategic enablement partner that serves as the foundation to the People function at Dow Jones, setting high standards, establishing processes and applying best practices. We drive self-service and resolution to HR related queries and own the employee experience throughout the entire employee lifecycle.

Accountability & Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality trusted HR advice and service to all employees on all HR related enquiries including:

  • Performance and development plans

  • Support with people issues

  • Performance management issues

  • Compensation and recognition

  • Support with self-service and advice and resolution of HR related queries

  • Maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders across dedicated client groups while supporting the PeopleConnect team

  • Establish strong internal working relationships and support People Business Partners and COEs to deploy company-wide strategies and frameworks as required

  • Support the Company of a customer-oriented mindset, culture and ways of working in the PeopleConnect function and reinforce our organizational values

  • Monitor key employee related metrics, like turnover, retention rates, exit data and provide insights into trends to our partners

  • Deliver to, and manage to, agreed service levels

  • Manage the delivery of HR programs to meet agreed outcomes

  • Support the implementation of the self-service model for HR

  • Embed the HR business partnering practice standards, advice models and supporting processes to deliver an excellent customer experience

  • Provide support and share expertise and knowledge with team members

  • Operate as a strong contributor to the HR team, role modeling Dow Jones values

Technical Competencies:

  • Knowing the business - knowledge and understanding of the business and its strategy

  • Extensive knowledge of a Human Resources Information system

  • Employment related legislation and company policies, procedures and systems


  • Broad generalist HR experience (3-4 years) with an understanding of all aspects of HR

  • Demonstrated experience in a systems/process Human Resource role, working in a generalist business partnering role

  • Experience in a fast-paced large complex organizations

  • Union related experience a plus


  • Ability to work under pressure

Pay Range: $40,000 - $160,000
