The FP&A group is currently seeking a Finance Analyst to support the Membership team, with a focus on the Barron’s digital product suite, WSJ print management and related marketing expenses. The successful candidate will help develop, communicate and monitor departmental budgets and forecasts. The candidate will also aid business partners in assessing the financial impact of their recommendations/decisions by regularly developing, analyzing and presenting business case models.
Working closely with business partners to review and prepare budgets and forecast.
Update and run subscription forecast models
Build business case models to evaluate the financial impact of decisions.
Create and maintain routine reporting of financial performance.
Create variance and trending analyses which monitor performance against budgets and forecast.
Works on month-end close and reporting for marketing expenses
Identify and address procedural problems/deficiencies impacting integrity and timeliness of financial information.
Assist in KPI (key performance indicator) collection and reporting.
Additional ad-hoc requests as deemed necessary by the business or financial needs.
Work closely and collaborate with your other FP&A colleagues to share best practice as well as provide cover across the team.
Will be required to work on projects on an as-needed basis.
Skills & Experience
Strong accounting and analytical skills; Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting preferred.
High degree of proficiency in PC skills including experience with financial applications and reporting tools, specifically Microsoft excel (can perform complex functions) and Google Docs.
Planning and organizational skills including effective time management and attention to detail.
Demonstrates initiative and drive and works well under pressure including being a team player with a strong work ethic.
Experience in maintaining accounting records and preparation of financial reports
Ability to recognize problems, collect data, draw valid conclusions and define/suggest resolutions.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups of business partners.
Strong eye for detail and detail orientated work practices.
Knowledge of or experience with SAP or related programs a plus
