Dow Jones Executive Producer, Enterprise in NEW YORK, New York

Job Description:

The Wall Street Journal is seeking an Executive Producer to lead its Enterprise video team. Based in New York, this role oversees enterprise and video investigations coverage that make news.

Top candidates for this position will demonstrate excellent editorial, production and team-management skills. Decisiveness and clear communication are critical for this role. The enterprise team is responsible for producing relevant and accurate news videos, features and enterprise journalism.

Although you will be the key manager in this unit, this is a hands-on role. We are looking for a strong, organized leader with a track record of producing timely investigative analysis and feature coverage that stands out in the 24/7 information cycle.

The position will report to the Deputy Head of Video.

You will:

  • Manage a team of video journalists to produce revelatory, news-making videos with a consistent cadence

  • Work closely with video journalists to hone story angles, strengthen scripts and ensure videos maintain the highest production value and all journalistic and legal standards are followed.

  • Work closely with the Deputy Head of Video to conceptualize and program a pipeline to deliver ambitious enterprise work.

  • Partner with the strategy team to develop new formats and execute an enterprise strategy in alignment with the rest of the global newsroom.

  • Collaborate closely with key newsroom leaders in Europe and Asia, as well as New York video leaders and producers to develop best-in-class video journalism.

  • Work late hours and weekends as part of a regular rotation and as breaking news events may warrant.

  • Jump on quick-turn video investigations reacting to global news events in order to deliver revelatory journalism

  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

  • Note

You Have:

  • At least 10 years of experience working in a daily video news environment, including time spent managing video teams.

  • Professional experience writing and reviewing scripts for news stories under tight time constraints.

  • Experience in OSINT reporting, gathering and analyzing publicly available information.

  • Clear communication skills with exceptional written and collaboration skills.

  • A deep understanding of current events, global politics and economics, as well as a nose for news.

  • A specific understanding of content and audience differentiation on various platforms, including O&O and YouTube.
