Dow Jones Audience Development Manager, Short Form Video in NEW YORK, New York

Job Description:

Audience Development Manager, Short Form Video

Dow Jones is seeking a Video Audience Development Manager to help drive the growth of its short form video content both on domain and on 3rd party platforms. This Short From Audience Development Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, reporting and analysis and strategic planning to increase video views and engagement and impact brand awareness. This person will work closely with the Newsrooms to provide insights and reporting. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in developing new audiences and content optimization. As new short-form video platforms continue to emerge, the Video Audience Development Manager will also be expected to apply the learnings and best practices identified on existing platforms to the new platforms in order to launch and grow the audience for Dow Jones brands.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a key member of the Audience Development team to achieve overall video audience and revenue goals on domain and across 3rd party short-form video platforms.

  • Conduct strategic market analysis to understand market trends and inform which initiatives to pursue.

  • Drive YouTube channel development and growth for the Dow Jones channels. Key KPIs include subscribers, video views, engagement time, viewer retention and revenue.

  • Partner with Marketing and other teams to leverage owned, earned, and paid opportunities to grow the audience to our sites and apps and 3rd party platforms.

  • Own and implement platform best practices, staying informed of platform updates and utilizing new features.

  • Review SEM and SEO recommendations to determine quality and alignment with business goals. Work on strategy, copy, and analysis holding the agencies accountable to performance.

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure support of priorities.

  • Maintain relationships with external partners & platforms to identify new opportunities.

  • Create and maintain reports from various data sources including analytics platforms and internal databases.

  • Create and maintain video content calendars.

  • Build and execute unique strategies around Communities and new content formats like video podcasts, YT Shorts for each of the YT channels.

  • Tracking, reporting, and analyzing the performance of across short form video channels and delivering updates to senior leadership on a regular basis.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 3+ years of audience development experience and/or YouTube channel management

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and provide action-oriented insights.

  • Ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally, specifically with editorial, brand, growth, and other partnership colleagues.

  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple time-sensitive projects with an entrepreneurial, open-minded, collaborative, and committed approach to business.

  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a rapidly changing business environment.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Analytical, detail oriented, and results driven.

  • Strong understanding of SEO as it pertains to the publishing industry.

  • Experience with Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, and Google News Publisher Center.
