As an Associate Director, People Business Advisor - News Content you will partner with our global news content business unit, collaborating with the People team's Center of Experts and People team leadership and advisors to ensure the workforce is fit for purpose. Reporting to the VP, People Business Advisor, you will help develop a regional team and co-create new ways of working. You will manage a team of people advisors and coordinators and will help engage the business through resonant leadership, and an informed, strategic approach.
Partner with leaders and other People practitioners on strategic initiatives, organization development, evolution management, and complex employee issues to strengthen organizational effectiveness
Partner with business units to design and implement business cases - organizational design, change and project management
Identify trends and new ways for People Advisors to contribute to the business strategies
Consult across the People Team to integrate inclusion into diversity and talent practices
Manage and resolve complex employee relations caseload
Create strong partnerships, leveraging the strengths of Dow Jones' People Centers of Excellence to ensure full service support to the business units.
Leverage and help cultivate the internal culture, values, mission and vision to inspire and engage employees
Coach, develop, and assess managers using tools from Community of Experts and new tools to develop the workforce and build careers
Champion the use of analytics to measure the effectiveness of human capital practices and use this information in decision-making
Work with multiple partners to promote positive changes in a collaborative, convincing manner and manage client expectations
Bachelor's degree in Business or related field like Human Resources or Organizational Development
7+ years HR management experience
SHRM-SCP, SPHR or similar HR certification preferred
Experience in Media/Newsroom and/or Technology & Innovation industries are preferred
Supervisory experience leading a team in a matrixed organization preferred
Expertise in federal and state labor law and regulations & managing of labor relations, including contract negotiations, handling grievances and arbitrations, and contract interpretation
Experience managing and resolving sensitive people issues/negotiations
Commercially astute and able to identify the financial impact of decisions/practices
Experience with HR data collection and reporting requirement.
Experience creating and/or expanding best practices in human resources
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including collaboration, coaching and counseling skills
