About the Role:
Investor's Business Daily looking for a .NET Software Developer/Engineer to create applications that deliver important stock market data and other information to an audience of investors. IBD provides news, financial data, stock analysis, trading ideas, and market insights that help customers make more money in the stock market. Products and services include the Investors.com website, IBD Weekly newspaper, MarketSmith charting service, Leaderboard and SwingTrader stock idea, research services, and IBD Live interactive streaming show. You will be based in Los Angeles and will require working in the mid-Wilshire office on Fridays during print production. But a hybrid work arrangement combining remote and in-office work is possible.
The .NET Software Developer/Engineer will be part of the IBD Content Department and report to the department's lead software architect. Your job will be to develop applications using the .NET framework, working with the Content team to provide valuable information that helps investors meet their financial goals. You'll also monitor the data production cycle for the website and newspaper to check that computer processes and feeds operate on time and data are correct, taking steps to fix issues. We offer the opportunity to develop expertise in the stock market and profitable stock investing strategies. You will participate in the success of IBD's content through several incentives and contribute ideas on creating new content to help readers support.
You Will:
Create in-house applications using the .NET framework, working with the Content team.
Debugging and maintaining written code.
Define and organize projects on an ongoing basis.
Resolve issues related to existing .NET projects.
Identify and handle technical risks.
Monitor the daily newspaper data feeds and production processes and fix issues.
You Have:
Four-year college degree in a relevant significant or equivalent experience. A Computer Science or Computer Engineering major is preferable.
Five years experience as a C# developer.
.Net Technologies: Microsoft .NET Framework CLR, CLS, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, XML, Win Forms, Web Forms.
Web Development: ASP.Net, IIS 6.0 and higher, XML, JavaScript, HTMP, and HTML 5.0.
Programming Languages: C++, VC++, C#, ADO.Net, and SQL Server Stored Procedures.
Development Tools: Visual Studio, Git Lab.
RDBMS: MS SQL Server 2012 and later versions, SQL Schedule Tasks. ○ Operating Systems: Windows 10, Batch Programming, Shell Scripting, NT Scheduled tasks.
Other Tools: Familiarity with Adobe InDesign products.
Write clean, easy-to-understand code.
Work alone and complete projects.
Experience in coding and development processes.
Interest in the markets and stock investing is a big plus.
