Dow Jones Manager, People Business Partner in Los Angeles, California

Job Description:

The People team is uniquely positioned as a partner to our employees and businesses to co-create and develop relationships strategically focused on both people and business goals. Senior business partners endeavor to understand the evolving needs of the business unit and its employees. Through collaboration with the People team’s Center of Experts and People team leadership, business partners ensure the workforce is fit for purpose. The Senior business partner will help develop team effectiveness and optimize ways of working. A true proponent of data-driven strategies, the Senior business partner is capable of challenging convention, building relationships and thinking critically.

About the Role

The Manager, People Business Partner, is an individual contributor embedded in specific business sectors who understands the skills, talents and abilities needed to work on the strategy. You will plan for people and organizational opportunities, and manage the challenges and changes.

You Will:

  • Report to the Director, People Business Partner

  • Create partnerships, applying the strengths of our Centers of Excellence to ensure full service support to the teams.

  • Support HR business partner activities during annual cyclical activities including compensation and performance reviews

  • Awareness of tools and insights from our Community of Experts to help develop the workforce and build careers.

  • Manage employee relations processes including conduct, absence & performance management.

  • Partner with Business Leaders in support of strategic workforce planning - including organizational design & ways-of-working optimization.

  • Ensure that company procedures are equitably applied and local legal requirements are met.

  • Request, gather and compile reports and analyze trends to measure the effectiveness of human capital practices

You Have:

  • 5+ years HR related experience

  • Knowledge in federal and state labor law and regulations

  • The ability to work with multiple members and to promote positive changes in a collaborative, convincing manner and the ability to manage client expectations.

  • History of work with HR data collection and reporting requirements.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Human Resources or Organizational Development.
