Its leading publications and products include the flagship Wall Street Journal, America’s most trusted newspaper; Factiva, Barron’s, MarketWatch, Financial News, DJX, Dow Jones Risk & Compliance, and Dow Jones Newswires.

The enterprise sales team is focused on aggressive growth of our audience and subscriber base globally by forming partnerships with companies and business schools. The Wall Street Journal ‘corporate subscriptions’ and ‘education’ sales programmes, successful in the US, are being expanded internationally (outside the US).

What are my accountabilities?

  • Identify Prospects: Complete market analysis to identify good potential target organisations, plus the specific roles and individuals to be prospected within the target organizations.

  • Meet New Business Targets: Generate new streams of revenue for Dow Jones through sales of products and services which address prospects’ business needs. This will include face to face and telephone contact with all accounts to build relationships, educate customers regarding our offerings and to execute the engagement, incremental and new business objectives.

  • Maintain data, contacts and notes in the CRM system.

  • Work with Relationship Managers and customer service to ensure optimum account management.

  • Work in conjunction with marketing to optimize engagement with partnerships and drive new business.

  • Improve performance of the function / department through the analysis of existing business processes, identifying innovative alternatives and recommendations for more effective or efficient ‘ways of working’ / product / service.

  • International travel will be required, subject to company policy.

What do you need from me?

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Fluent in spoken & written English.

  • Extensive experience in sales, sales management, and track record in new business development and negotiation.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.

  • Proven track record of success in bringing in new customers.

  • Experience of selling into some or all of financial and professional services, government, energy & commodity, telecoms and technology, education.

  • Experience of an editorial/creative led environment.
