The Strategic Services department (part of the Solutions Engine) is the responsible for formulating and leading responses to incoming media and marketing opportunities - primarily across on-site advertising, bespoke content development and events. We are responsible for developing solutions from end to end, ensuring that they’re not only delivered on time and on budget for our clients, but that they also drive our clients’ business results and lead to long term partnerships with Dow Jones.
Strategic Services is the driving force behind the propositions we create - understanding objectives, assembling teams of specialists and leading the process to success. They own the solution end to end, from what is the problem we're solving? to how are we going to measure and report success?, and we work with the right people to answer those questions and to identify and coordinate resources to ensure that solutions for clients are delivered on time and on budget.
This will involve various levels of input – depending on client size and solution requirements – from teams across the Solutions Engine to deliver the proposed solution and if required, to manage the ongoing delivery of that solution post-sale. The other teams in the Solutions Engine are there to support the Strategic Services team to deliver against an RFP, pro-active proposal, or Office of CEO request.
The Marketing Coordinator is primarily responsible for facilitating and supporting best in class execution of campaign and partnership proposals. Working alongside Strategic Service Managers or with the sales team independently to understand their advertiser’s business and campaign objectives and translate those into advertising or partnership proposals across the Dow Jones portfolio.
Predominantly a reactive role the pace can be fast, requiring good organisation and prioritisation skills as well as being able to quickly understand marketing objectives and being able to construct opportunities within our portfolio.
This role is at the heart of our commercial success and liaises with the sales team who source potential opportunities and prospects, the creative team in coming up with the ideas that underpin the campaigns, the media planning team, and management to ensure we commit to delivering projects that are commercially viable. Therefore excellent communication is essential as well as being a good collaborator, information gatherer and negotiator, someone who can balance the needs of different stakeholders and arrive at a winning plan.
The Marketing Coordinator will report into the Strategic Service Director in the Solutions Engine.
Skills & Experience:
Understanding of advertising, digital media and the solution response process.
Ability to uncover and articulate client challenges, aims and vision.
Can work across multiple projects simultaneously.
Capable of managing multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking.
Can articulate their reasoning and sell their ideas.
An ability to form strong relationships at all levels within Dow Jones, particularly within the Solutions and Revenue Engines.
Excellent communications skills both written and verbal.
A desire to learn and progress in a fast paced environment.
Ability to work in a team environment.
