What is the role?
The EMEA payroll team are responsible for the payroll preparation and payment of employees across Europe, the Middle East and Africa including Russia, as well as Latin America.
As Manager of this team you will be responsible for the day to day management of the team, which not only involves making sure that employees and taxes are paid correctly and on time but also liaising closely with the Human Resources department on policy questions and employee changes, along with the Management Accounting team to ensure all entries are reflected correctly in our systems and that pensions contributions and benefits have been correctly calculated and paid.
There is a strong “customer service” philosophy and you will be expected to ensure that the queries are dealt with quickly and sympathetically.
Working in an international role requires a good grasp of international payroll issues, practices and cross border matters such as the management of expat payroll’s and payroll tax issues. You will also be in close contact with our US HQ.
What is my personal contribution?
You will be seen as the leader of the team and asked to handle and resolve complex and often apparently intractable problems. You will need to be decisive and not afraid to take responsibility.
You will approve and check all payroll’s and payments and will be expected to proactively improve and change processes
You will be the key point of contact across a number of departments, running from treasury to AP to HR and of course across the business and across the world.
You will be a point of contact for our vendors, such as tax, benefits and pensions.
What do you need from me?
Previous experience as a payroll manager covering the EMEA and LATAM regions
Understanding of APAC region payroll not required, but a plus for future oversight considerations
Proven experience of pensions and benefits administration as well as rolling out new overseas payrolls
You must be comfortable with expatriates and related tax issues
A process driven approach whilst remaining customer service focused
You will have a responsive, can do attitude demonstrating flexibility where required
Management of people and a team is essential
The ability to gel well with the wider finance team and human resources colleagues
Unafraid of new challenges
An appetite for continuous improvement
