Job Description:
Chemical Market Analytics (CMA) is a world leader in critical information, analytics and solutions for the major industries and markets that drive economies worldwide. Responsibilities:
Monthly Publications
Author feedstock chemicals text for publication.
Build Price Master, GERR Trade, Charts of Econo Prices, Feedstocks reports, load refreshed demand and economic data into the QTRSD tables for approximately 70 polymer-region-industries.
Compile industry demand forecasts, trade statistics, arbitrage cost models, move the data between systems and generate charts of the data for publication & presentations.
Proof-read and edit other authors’ compositions.
Semi-Annual Balancing
Build long forms, load elasticities, balance production, operating rates, trade and produce the published trade grids for 7 polymers, approximately 60 countries & regions, and approximately 12 industries.
Update software comparing current & previous demand forecasts, operating rates, and trade.
Build elasticity data and write code to transfer data between systems and databases.
Produce text for production processes & economics; prepare trade grids and supply / demand and capacity appendices.
Daily / Weekly
Troubleshoot databases for Economodels, Long Forms, Capacity Database and Trade Grids.
Validate capacity changes and keep capacity database up-to-date for key chemical products.
Reply to client requests for data in a timely manner.
Generate monthly bespoke data reports for selected clients.
Schedule engineering plastics monthly meetings and publication dates.
Update technical presentations monthly and other presentation support.
Conferences
Qualifications:
Chemical Engineering or Chemistry degree preferred; science degree required.
Familiarity with principles of economics preferred.
VBA coding preferred and expert level MS Excel skills required.
Ability to express concepts clearly and concisely in written format and verbal communication is required.
Ability to work beyond the immediate work group, across multiple levels within the organization and efficiently utilize resources in a cooperative team approach.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
3+ years of relevant experience preferred.
Self-starter, able to work independently without constant supervision
