Dow Jones Product Management Director in HOUSTON, Texas

Job Description:

Objective -

Product management sits at the center of sales, content, PD&D (IT) and marketing to drive implementation of product strategy, the execution of Go-To-Market initiatives and follow up on the performance of product development.

Focus Areas:-

-Product development: greater focus of content and sales to prioritize product changes, including definition of priorities and timelines. Encourage idea generation and manage NPD process.

-Cross-Functional Alignment: Ensure product goals are met, KPIs agreed, sales targets (i.e. agree on KPIs and be informed progress) – ensuring that sales has the needed product and content support to meet its strategy.

-Portfolio Management – establish KPIs, monitor progress and development of products, engage stakeholders to generate support.

Product manager: Key Responsibilities

  • Product Development: Own the NPD process. Support the Development and implementation of new products and enhancements to existing ones through both external and internal engagement, focused specifically on product families.

  • Manage information flow and feedback loop to enable product development, market research and GTM programs.

  • Support customer facing teams to develop relationships with the market (customers, evaluators, and potentials)

  • Maintain close relationships with customer facing teams, including (Content/Editorial) and Sales

  • Seek new market opportunities and define and size market segments

  • Monthly NPD sessions and Decision-making process

  • Ensure alignment with PD & D to determine and manage delivery timelines

  • Maintain the product portfolio roadmap

  • Product technical elements: Defining market requirements and packaging the features into product and platform development while working closely with the PD&D team

  • Analyze product profitability and sales success, and define pricing strategy

  • Analyze the competitive landscape and industry innovations

  • Product launch and monetization: Provides product line support for program strategy, operational readiness, and on-going sales support.

  • Define buyer personas and determine market messages and identify best opportunities for lead generation

  • Maintain product launch plans

  • Establish internal engagement sessions to ensure alignment between content (Editorial), IT, Marketing and sales teams by developing and implementing Go-to-Market plan to meet targets

  • Participate key meetings to support sales process product

  • Product Briefings

  • Seek new market opportunities and define and size market segments

  • Define buyer personas and determine market messages

  • Train sales to implement go-to-market

  • Identify elements of success and failure to change GTM plans as needed

  • Work with sales to define new revenues opportunities and productize them

Requirements

Degree, preferably in Business, Management, Marketing

Experience in Commodities and Energy preferred

Skills in Product Marketing and or Project Management preferred

Strong Organizational skills and proven ability in delivering results and meeting deadlines

Excellent Communication Skills, ability to impact and influence stakeholders
