EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, REFINING & OIL PRODUCTS
Chemical Market Analytics, by OPIS, a Dow Jones Company (CMA) is seeking an Executive Director who will develop and steward new energy market research and analysis. You will also support the VP of Energy Markets within CMA.
Establish and maintain a reputation for refining industry and oil product market expertise.
Lead the development of refinery models and maintains CMA's point of view on refining-petrochemical integration.
Direct primary research and creates analysis to support the outlook for oil product markets, such as gasoline, diesel and jet/kerosene. Research includes utilization trends, refining landscape evolution, end-use demand modeling, supply/demand balancing, trade flows, pricing, general market dynamics, individual company analysis, and econometric modeling.
Build and maintain industry contact relationships across producers, consumers, traders, and the financial community.
Leverage contacts to collect market information for analysis and forecasting, benefiting existing and potential clients.
Be a liaison between CMA and external research partners.
Oversee energy price forecasting process and communicates the forecast important messages both internally and externally.
Provide neutral and objectively written content within Market Advisory Service content including weekly and monthly reports, special topic papers and strategic analyses.
Develop market presentations.
Pursue opportunities to present information in client meetings and at conferences.
Actively markets the energy and feedstock services.
Contribute to CMA team dynamics to ensure global market coverage and analysis.
Collaborate with sales personnel to identify new business opportunities for sales and consulting engagements.
Provide energy and feedstock market expertise for consulting projects and client development.
You will report to the VP of Energy Markets. Characteristics of the ideal candidate include:
20 or more years of downstream industry experience, including market intelligence or strategic planning.
University degreed. Chemical engineering or chemistry degree preferred, economics will be considered; post-graduate academic work in a technical field (such as PhD or master's in data science chemical or petroleum engineering) will be considered in lieu of experience.
Demonstrated "team player"; ability to internalize organizational strategy and objectives and provide peer leadership for collaborative success.
Drive for action and results.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills; ability to identify and articulate core/essential issues within complex problems and provide insights and solutions.
Speaker at all client levels to small and large audiences.
MS Office suite management skills, PowerBI, Spotfire or Tableau experience.
Advanced knowledge of Excel manipulation including VBA scripting, python knowledge a plus.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
