Job Description:

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT – JOB DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS:

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as Chemical Market Analytics (CMA) high-profile ambassador to the chemical and energy industry’s major company C-suites.

  • Develops and maintains executive-level relationships with major global chemical companies.

  • Maintains a broad understanding of chemical markets and the interrelationships between chemical value chains.

  • Rapidly internalizes companies’ strategic perspectives and translates their perspectives to how CMA can help them realize their strategic goals.

  • Succinctly summarizes CMA value-add in client-specific terms

  • Persuasively communicates significant chemical industry trends to client and prospect C-suites and aligns CMA capabilities with companies’ strategic interests.

  • Documents and implements CMA business development strategy

  • Levers CMA industry information and dashboards to identify white space and prioritize business development targets

  • Meets or exceeds annual business development revenue targets.

  • Coordinates with Global Business Leads and sales management to meet client needs and profitably actualize business development opportunities fostered with company C-suite contacts.

  • Identifies types of new services CMA should develop to meet emerging needs of major companies. Tests new product and service concepts with major clients.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Senior level chemical industry executive with 20+ years of experience including blue-chip company experience in commercial and / or strategic planning positions.

  • Very broad knowledge of the petrochemical industry, including some knowledge of feedstocks.

  • Work experience in multiple global regions.

  • Widely respected with strong name recognition in the chemical industry. Has a large inventory of very high-level major company contacts.

  • Big picture strategic thinker. Understands CMA product and service users, the use cases, and the needs of the industry.

  • Outgoing and at ease with all personalities in all cultures. Ability to adapt to clients’ personas.

  • Exceptional listener. Succinct and persuasive strategic communicator.

  • Skilled in fostering relationships, generating business opportunities, and negotiating.

  • Financially literate with ability to rapidly internalize financial aspects of industry and company challenges and opportunities.

  • Passionate and driven with respect to creating new revenue opportunities.

  • Demonstrated collaboration and team motivation skills.

  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally
