Chemical Market Analytics by OPIS, a Dow Jones company, seeks a Content Strategy Associate Director to lead and define an integrated content strategy program across the chemical, petrochemical and energy sectors. This person will collaborate with other marketing functions, sales and product lines. They will guide a comprehensive strategic content approach that advances the brand and leverages data and insights to develop content that continually improves client and prospect engagement. This role is based in Houston, Texas, and reports to the Executive Director of Marketing for Chemical Market Analytics.
In this role, you will take ownership of the growth of our organic content across our markets and domains. You will leverage your expertise to drive, shape and implement content strategies and boost organic traffic to the business. You will have a crucial role in identifying and optimizing user journeys for our business. Content strategy and creation are critical parts of our business and marketing strategy. As a result, you will define KPI-driven goals, collaborate and align with multiple internal stakeholders, and create external partnerships to implement your strategies.
This is a 'hands-on' autonomous role requiring collaboration among multiple business stakeholders; the individual needs to be self-driven and comfortable taking initiative while providing well-thought-out plans and deliverables for stakeholder review and support.
Responsible for planning, developing and implementing the business's marketing content strategy.
Own and oversee the execution of various strategic insights/themes and content marketing activities – thought leadership, community marketing, white papers, podcasts, and videos – ensuring high quality.
Responsible for ROI / Analysis report on the content campaigns and identifying new opportunities to capitalize on.
Work collaboratively with stakeholders across sales, product management and marketing to ensure buy-in and understanding about forward-looking plans, tactics and campaigns.
Develop content for complex, multichannel communication journeys across multiple platforms, channels, and segments.
Serve as an in-house editor for marketing content, including partnerships with leading media, trade publications and associations.
Lead marketing content creation, including website, blog, social, white papers, newsletters and email nurture campaigns.
Ensure all content produced is optimized for the given medium, aligned with other tactics and formats, and created with clients’ needs in mind.
9+ years of proven strategic content and/or product marketing experience in the chemicals industry. Knowledge of the chemicals industry is required.
Track record of measurable success in developing and growing pipeline through innovative content programs to scale business growth.
Proven strategic content/ theme development capabilities, including strategy, writing, creation and execution of executive summaries and/or marketing assets across multiple media – including social media, blogs, websites and email.
Strong ability to think strategically, analytically, and creatively to break down problems and find effective solutions.
Experience working in a cross-functional, matrix organization, including understanding global/ regional/ country organizational dynamics.
Forward-looking and able to understand how market trends will impact the business and pivot accordingly.
Chemical domain knowledge is a must.
Excellent command of the English language, with great written and verbal communication skills
Innate ability to navigate a complex matrix organization and lead process changes.
Great at managing workload effectively and thriving in a fast-paced, connected environment.
A strong collaborator with experience working with multiple cultures and stakeholders across global locations and time zones.
Lead with a growth mindset and use data effectively to make decisions.
