About the Role:
You will be joining a premier global team with a stellar reputation for providing expert research and analysis for the light olefins, ethylene, and propylene markets. As an Associate Director, you will research and analyze producer capacities, trade flows, general market dynamics, and individual companies. You will support our advisory services with econometric & trade grid modeling. You will also collaborate with sales to identify new business opportunities for sales and consulting engagements. You will report to the North American Olefins Director of Research & Analysis.
You Will:
Complete primary research and analysis for the North American olefins market and support research for the ethylene and propylene markets
Establish and maintain a reputation for light olefins and cracker feedstock market expertise
Build and maintain North American olefins industry contacts relationships across producers, consumers, traders, and the financial community and leverage your contacts to collect market information
Oversee monthly price discovery and cracker feedstock surveys with relevant market participants
Regularly provide neutral and objectively written content which includes weekly and monthly reports, special topic papers, and strategic analyses
Maintain the North America production capacity database, cracker feedstock database, regional supply-demand balances, and price forecasts
Work with the global olefins team to ensure consistent global market coverage and analysis
Develop market presentations for client meetings and conferences
Travel domestically and internationally to meet with clients and attend conferences
You Have:
At least 10 years’ refinery or chemical industry experience in the space of market intelligence, commercial development, or olefins manufacturing
Experience with identifying and explaining core issues within complex problems and delivering insights and solutions
Experience providing peer leadership for collaborative success
VBA Scripting, Python, PowerBI, Spotfire and/or Tableau experience
Undergraduate degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, or related discipline
Experience in the natural gas liquids sector (preferred)
Graduate degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, or related discipline (preferred)
Spanish and/or Portuguese proficiency (preferred)
