Job Description:About the Role

Through collaboration with the People team’s Centers of Expertise and People team leadership - Advisors ensure the workforce is fit for the future. Reporting to the Vice President, People Advisors APAC, the Senior Advisor will help develop team effectiveness and improve ways of working. A true proponent of data-driven strategies, the Senior Advisor is capable of challenging convention, building relationships, and thinking critically.

The Senior Advisor is a mid-level individual contributor who may be embedded in business sectors (Sales & Marketing; Data Strategy; B2B Products; etc) who understands the skills, talents and abilities needed to build the strategy. The role will plan for both people and organizational opportunities, and manage the challenges and changes required.

As a key member of the People APAC team, you will:

  • Provide a consultative experience that aligns with business needs and strategy of the department, and initiatives that support enterprise activities.

  • Partner with senior management and department heads on strategic initiatives including: employee engagement, retention, performance planning, compensation/title analysis, employee relations matters, career development, information collection, reporting requirements and metrics, succession planning and organizational structuring.

  • Work with Department leaders to implement People initiatives that support the needs of the department, as well as initiatives that support company-wide activities.

  • Ensure that company policies and procedures are consistently and equitably applied and that all legal requirements are met, and ensure that a positive employee relations climate is developed, reinforced and maintained.

  • Participate in the creation and upholding of best practice human resource practices and systems which help attract and retain high-quality employees, support business priorities and collective bargaining agreements, and promote competitive advantage.

  • Partner with the internal recruitment team in ensuring and maintaining the integrity and quality of the recruitment efforts including candidate selection and interview process

  • Partner with our multiple Communities of Expertise to support our daily operations such as Benefits, Compensation, Talent and HRIS such as WorkDay.

  • Be an active member of the wider Global HR team and coordinate with the HR teams based in other regions.

You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field, preferably Human Resources or Organizational Development.

  • Human Resource Management or industry certifications. (preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of HR practices and policies, industry trends. Excellent knowledge of Hong Kong labor ordinance is required.

  • 5+ years combined human resources & managerial experience.

  • Expertise working with a global HR team and knowledge of current employment/Asian labor laws.

  • Critical thinking skills.

  • Problem solver and agile learner.

  • Self starter and eager to grow.

  • The ability to work with multiple teams and to create positive changes in a collaborative, convincing manner and the ability to manage client expectations.

  • At ease with handling HR operations, with history of work with HR information and data collection and reporting requirements.

  • Experience with managing labor relations, including successful handling of grievances and arbitration.

  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity. Understanding the issue and utilizing the resources available, to achieve the desired solution with sensitivity.

  • Proactive team player, flexible, and be able to work under pressure.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including collaboration, coaching and counseling skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.

  • Media industry experience is preferred.
