About the Role:
We are looking for a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to function as a software tester across multiple teams within the Chemical Market Analytics division of OPIS. You will play an important role in the development and deployment of software. You will embrace many different roles, offering input on development impact on our existing internal environment and anticipating impact on customer files, software, and experience. You will contribute to the expansion of the Quality Assurance organization by using automation; seek opportunities to increase team efficiency by building automated software tests and working with our development team to integrate these into our development processes.
You will have the potential grow into a leadership role as our Quality Assurance group adds automated testing to its existing skillset.
This is a unique opportunity to join a growing team that will become an important part of global OPIS IT and our Chemical Market Analytics Product Technology division. To fit this role, you will need a unique mix of solid technical and influencing capabilities.
Your Responsibilities
Test software and content to ensure changes and additions meet business expectations without negatively affecting the existing reports and workflows
Perform manual tests and develop test plans
Design and help build automated tests
Work with several project teams and business representatives, participating in agile/scrum ceremonies and production deploys to ensure smooth development throughout the project lifecycle
Design and automate regression tests for deployment verification and auditing purposes
Track recurring issues and design automated testing to prevent future recurrence
You Have:
Good experience in the Software Testing Life Cycle and performing functional, exception, edge, integration and regression tests
4+ years professional experience in the IT field
Experience with any of the following: C#, Selenium, xunit/nunit, Cypress, Angular/Javascript, or Python
Basic knowledge of at least one database type such as SQL, MongoDB
Basic knowledge of source control tools such as Git
General knowledge in the area of web applications development (working with various browsers, HTTP, HTML, CSS, or JavaScript)
Fluent in English speaking and writing
