Program Manager, Design Operations (B2B)

Dow Jones is seeking a Program Manager, Design Operations to join our Strategy Operations team. This role focuses on optimizing the efforts and impact of our UX team, covering our core processes, operations, and the development of our shared tools, whilst supporting and enabling our teams to perform at the highest levels of UX maturity. Success allows us to directly contribute to the creation of the world's leading UX ecosystem from a product perspective.
You will combine expert project management skills with a passion for user experience, driving the UX team's objectives by coordinating the work of the UX department and overseeing special initiatives. You will be responsible for helping teams do their best work by building in better communication and tighter operations, resource coordination, reporting, and process optimization, ensuring the team can focus on building optimal customer experiences. This role focuses on the Dow Jones’ B2B portfolio includes Factiva, NewsPlus, Risk & Compliance and any new related products.
This is a highly collaborative role requiring partnerships with colleagues across UX Architecture, UX Design, Customer Insights, and other groups within Technology including Engineering, PMO and Product as well as SMEs and Partners across Dow Jones.
The Program Manager, Design Operations will report to the Head of Strategy Operations.
Responsibilities:
Manage initiatives and special projects in UX, performing project management duties including requirements gathering, and working with PCX Leads to support resource allocation.
Support UX initiatives, defining scope, identifying resourcing needs, and handling stakeholder management.
Support the UX teams in succeeding and delivering on goals, while continuously seeking out ways to improve our process, capabilities and culture
Provide UX Leadership with visibility and updates of current projects, resource utilization, team performance, and project metrics
Contribute to defining and optimizing our creative process by putting standardized processes and methods in place that support UX and allow UX to scale efficiently
Develop and maintain standardized and repeatable documentation and workflows
Oversee education and training sessions on team processes and methodologies as required
Ensure teams have the right tools, resources, and processes they need to succeed in their roles.
Ensure that accessibility and inclusion are woven into our product development process as an integral part of creating our customer experiences
Role requires 3 days each week in office (as per current mandate, may change)
Last but never least, serve as an advocate for our users and clients, keeping their needs at the heart of our digital solutions
Required Skill Set:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, related field, or equivalent work experience.
7-10 years of experience in program management, ideally with experience within a B2B environment
Strong operational and facilitation skills, with a proven ability to plan, coordinate and execute projects.
An understanding of UX and the different crafts that are part of the design family.
Experience working with product, marketing, and brand design teams.
Familiarity with Figma and working with Design Systems
Strong proficiency with G-suite products and experience with professional collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence and Airtable.
A passion for supporting and enabling people to do their best work.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Skills/Certifications:
Project Management certification or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum
Familiarity with WCAG accessibility standards and compliance
Experience in the media industry
