The Professional Information Business at Dow Jones plays a critical role in the delivery of key B2B products in order to be the power behind global businesses. We are a truly global business with a significant proportion of our customer base coming from outside the US. We provide information; data and analytics to help support and drive our customers key business decisions, and protect their organizations from risk. The PIB business is broken into five customer focused verticals to solve for user solutions: Knowledge & Insight, News Alerts & Data, DNA, Risk & Compliance and Partnerships.

These business units are continually looking to develop innovative new products that will further serve our customer needs.

Position Statement:

The Product Manager, R&C Feeds is responsible for the coordination and overall management of the functional product development lifecycle for Risk & Compliance’s feeds business. This role reports directly into the Director of Feeds/APIs and will be part of the Risk & Compliance Product Team and will require regular interaction and liaison with Dow Jones technology team as well as third-party teams.

It is the responsibility of the Product Manager to ensure that both the existing Product features are operating as specified and all new product features are defined, specified, scoped, scheduled, delivered and communicated both internally and to our client base.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Develop the high level requirements for all new feed product enhancements and product features.

  • Responsible for management of the feeds Product Roadmap and associated delivery and internal testing schedule.

  • Completing Business Impact Assessments for all new product changes.

  • Define the Roadmap Prioritisation and ensure this is clearly understood by the Technical Product Manager (TPM).

  • Maintain and update Roadmap Project Plan.

  • A key contributor to the Sprint Planning and Backlog Management, ensuring that agreed priorities are adhered to, minor changes are progressed and the Backlog is maintained to retain Engineering utilisation.

  • Contribute to the internal testing of new releases.

  • Assist with the communications (internally and externally) of all new feature releases and maintenance of user guides.

  • Maintain a detailed knowledge and understanding of the voice of the customer and corporate compliance market.

  • Interact with both Sales and Customers to support understanding of contracted products, collect feedback on usage and suggestions for enhancements and expansions.

  • Work with Sales to develop solutions to customer specific needs, especially with respect to specialized data needs.

  • Collaborates with Sales, Marketing and Policy teams to effectively position new and existing products for success in the marketplace.

  • Collaborates with research and proposition teams to ensure market driven data needs are met.

  • Innovates to create new product opportunities either via product enhancements or new offerings.


  • Strong experience as a Product Manager with a proven product delivery track record.

  • Comprehensive technical know-how including a good understanding of the full software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies (Scrum).

  • Advanced communication, organisation and planning skills.

  • Strong Project Management experience, with Programme Management capability preferrable.

  • Ability to work independently and manage your own feeds business.

  • Demonstrable experience in scoping, budgeting, scheduling and delivering complex project implementations.

  • Ability to understand client and product requirements and influence prioritisation decisions with senior management.

  • Excellent team player, working across a number of functional, technical and client project teams.

  • Advanced stakeholder management, managing relationships with senior stakeholders, both within Dow Jones and externally within our clients.
